Spruha Joshi, the first child of Shirish Madhusudan Joshi and Shreeya Shirish Joshi (née Alaka Arvind Terdalkar), was born in Dadar, Mumbai, on October 13, 1989. After completing her education at Balmohan Vidyamandir in Dadar, she received her diploma from Ruia College.[Reference required]

Her first acting role was in the drama Maay Baap (2004). She portrayed a teenage student of classical music. She took a sabbatical from movies after her debut in order to finish her graduation. She performed in numerous plays at Ramnarain Ruia College, including Yugmak, GaMaBhaNa, Santa, Ek Ashi Vyakti, Koi Aisa, Canvas, and Ananyaa. Her debut on television in Agnihotra as Uma Band was noteworthy.
She starred in the Avadhoot Gupte-directed movie Morya in 2011.
