Nagari was raised in Delhi by a Sindhi family. She attended Army Public School in Dhaula Kuan, New Delhi, and Good Shepherd English School in Bengdubi, Bagdogra.[Reference required] In 2003, she received her diploma from Lady Shri Ram College in New Delhi. Nagrani’s father was a retired Indian Naval officer, therefore her family has a military history as well. She wed Shiraz Bhattacharya, her lover, in Kerala in 2013.

She was chosen to represent India in Miss International 2003 after winning the title of Femina Miss India International 2003. Beginning with the Champions Trophy that year, Cricket Nagari has been a frequent host of cricket shows since 2006. She then ventured into the UK television industry and presented the Indian Premier League for four seasons in a row.
Film
Nagari has also made appearances in Hindi-language films, mainly in supporting parts. Shonali Nagrani was originally scheduled to star alongside Emraan Hashmi in the 2005 film Zeher, but she was forced to withdraw due to pre-production delays. Since then, she hasn’t been in any significant motion pictures. Nonetheless, she made two brief appearances in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Dil Bole Hadippa!.
