Premam, the second-highest grossing Malayalam movie at the time Pallavi made her acting debut in, was released in 2015. With her well-received roles in films like Kali (2016), Fidaa (2017), Middle Class Abbayi (2017), Maari 2 (2018), Athiran (2019), Paava Kadhaigal (2020), Love Story (2021), Shyam Singha Roy (2021), and Gargi (2022), she has since made a name for herself in South Indian cinema.

Sai Pallavi Childhood And Employment

In Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, on May 9, 1992 , Sai Pallavi was born into a Badaga Hindu family . Kotagiri, in Tamil Nadu’s Nilgiris area, is her hometown. Her younger sister Pooja Kannan, who has also worked as , was born to Senthamarai Kannan and Radha. Sai Pallavi attended Avila Convent School while growing up and receiving her education in Coimbatore.

Sai Pallavi graduated in 2016 from the Medical Council of India-accredited Tbilisi State Medical University with a medical degree, although she is still not registered as a doctor in India. On August 31, 2020, at Trichy, she took the Foreign Medical Graduate Examination (FMGE). Pallavi is proficient in Tamil, English, Hindi, and Georgian in addition to Badaga. Later, after a career in her respective film industry, she learned Telugu.

Despite not being a skilled dancer, Pallavi stated in an interview that she had always wanted to pursue something that required dancing. Sai Pallavi took part in a number of school-sponsored cultural events and became well-known for her dancing. She was a finalist in Dhee Ultimate Dance Show (D4) on ETV in 2009 and took part in the dance reality show Ungalil Yaar Adutha Prabhu Deva on Vijay TV in 2008 thanks to her mother’s encouragement of her passion for dancing.

As a young actor, Pallavi starred in a few commercials and uncredited roles in Kasthuri Maan (2005) and Dhaam Dhoom (2008) .

Breakthrough in acting career (2015–2016)

Six years prior, in 2014, she was contacted by film director Alphonse Puthren while studying in Tbilisi, Georgia, using Facebook footage of a reality show in which she had appeared. After she turned down Alphonse’s first invitation to star in his movie, he called Pallavi six years later. At that point, Pallavi believed he was stalking her and wanted to report him to the police. however after Alphonse forcedfully introduced himself, it was later misinterpreted.

Subsequently, she agreed to play Malar in his movie Premam. Sai Pallavi spent the holidays filming the movie, and once it was done, she went back to her studies. Sai Pallavi went on to win other “Best Female Debut” honours in that same year, including the Best Female Debut Filmfare Award. Years later, Alphonse disclosed in an interview that Asin was first given consideration for Pallavi’s character Malar at the request of a fan.

Studio Green acquired and distributed Pa. Ranjith’s well-received 2012 film Attakathi, and in late 2015 they signed him up to direct a movie for their production company. He declared that he will soon start working on a production called Madras, in which Karthi would play the lead.

Sai Pallavi was the director’s first and best choice for the female lead because of this, but she turned down the movie offer since she needed to go to Georgia to finish her medical education. After that, she took a month off from school to participate in the March 2016 release of Kali, her second Malayalam film. Her performance as Anjali, a young woman dealing with her husband’s intense anger management issues, earned her a nomination for the Filmfare Award’s Best Actress in a Malayalam category.

Sai Pallavi was named one of India’s 30 under 30 by Forbes magazine in 2020. On that list, she was the lone member of the film industry. Sai Pallavi also starred in the Vetrimaaran-directed Oor Iravu section of the Netflix anthology film series Paava Kadhaigal. Sai Pallavi costarred with Naga Chaitanya in the romance drama Love Story in 2021, her second project with Sekhar Kammula following Fidaa (2017), and Shyam Singa Roy opposite Nani in their second project following MCA. She starred alongside Rana Daggubati in the Telugu movie Virata Parvam in 2022. In Telugu and Kannada, she dubbed her own lines for her Tamil flick Gargi .

Her next movie, directed by Rajkumar Periyasamy and starring Sivakarthikeyan, will be released in Tamil through Raaj Kamal Films International, a production company owned by Kamal Hassan. The female lead in Naga Chaitanya’s 23rd film, which is scheduled for release in September 2023, will be portrayed by Sai Pallavi, marking their second filmic partnership following Love Story.

Sai Pallavi also questioned whether there should be a distinction between this religious conflict and cow vigilantism, citing a recent incident in which a Muslim driver of cows was attacked, made to chant “Jai Shri Ram,” and then left. The interview quickly gained popularity and drew criticism on the internet. Later, she clarified on her Instagram account that her remarks during the interview had been misinterpreted and that she would never condone or trivialise lynchings by a crowd.
