Saba Qamar received two awards from the Pakistani government: Pride of Performance in 2016 and Tamgha-e-Imtiaz in 2012. A number of television shows, including the pre-partition drama Dastaan, the melodrama Uraan (2010), the romantic dramas Maat and Pani Jaisa Piyar (2011), the socio Thakan (2012), the thriller Sannata, the romantic Bunty I Love You (2013), the family drama Digest Writer (2014), the crime thriller Sangat (2015), and Besharam (2016), saw Qamar achieve further success after her initial positive media attention for her role as Ruqsana Inayat in the historical drama Jinnah Ke Naam (2009). On April 5, 1984, Saba Qamar Zaman was born in Hyderabad, Sindh, Pakistan. Saba Qamar had five siblings: an older sister, an elder brother, and a younger brother who passed away on November 15, 2022 . Saba Qamar was raised primarily by her grandmother in Gujranwala after experiencing the early death of her father. After completing her elementary schooling in Gujranwala, she relocated to Lahore to further her education. Her family has made Karachi their home.

Saba Qamar Acting Career

Beginnings and breakthrough of the acting career (2004–2011)

In 2004, Qamar made her television debut on the PTV show Mein Aurat Hoon. After that, she starred opposite Bilal Qureshi in the Dilawar Malik-directed telefilm Ishq for Geo Entertainment. She modelled for Abrar-ul-Haq’s Boliyan music video later that year, which is taken from the critically acclaimed album Nachan Main Audhay Naal. Qamar costarred with Sami Khan in the lead role of ATV’s Chaap in 2005.

After thereafter, she took Sophia Mirza’s place as Tania in the comic drama Sussar in Law. She also had cameos in Hera Pheri & Company (Episodes 40–41) as Sonia and in the Punjabi anthology series Jag Beeti (Episode Faisla, PTV) as Erum. She starred in a number of beloved PTV shows in 2006, such as Dhoop Mein Andhera Hai, Phool, Apno Ka Sath, and Kahin Tum Kahin Hum.

Later, she appeared in supporting roles in the PTV series Gharoor and Taqdeer and the Geo Entertainment series Banjar. She served as Ahsan Khan’s partner in Gharoor and Banjar. Later, in the PTV telefilm Kal, Qamar played the part of Sana Hamdani in her one and only main role opposite Fawad Khan.

Acclaim from critics and career growth (2012–2015)

Qamar’s next role was in Ameen Iqbal’s Thakan (2012), where she played the part of Sadaf, a woman who works nonstop like a machine to support her family but receives no sympathy or concern from anybody save her grandfather. After that, she acted in Pyaar Mein Twins and Love Ki Kichri, two Eid telefilms from ARY Digital. It was followed by the lead parts in Yahan Pyar Nahin Hai (2012) by Faiza Iftikhar and Na Kaho Tum Mere Nahi (2012) by Amna Nawaz Khan.

Qamar was nominated for a Hum Awards Best Actress in the latter event. She portrayed Bhool in another PTV Home programme. Filmed in 2008, it was postponed and eventually released in 2012. Her roles in serials such as Shikwa Na Shikayat (2012), Shehryar Shehzadi5, Miss Fire (2013), Kaash Aisa Ho5, Sannata24, and Ullu Baraye Farokht Nahi25 earned her recognition. Several of these serials also earned her nominations for best actress.

In 2023, Qamar won the USAID Best Actress award for her portrayal of taxi driver Rania in the short series Sar-e-Rah. In association with USAID, IDream Entertainment developed it. She collaborated with the Pakistan Polio Eradication Programme that same year to raise awareness of polio, and she co-starred in the YouTube miniseries Yehi Waqt Hai with Agha Mustafa Hassan, Kiran Haq, and Haroon Shahid. Playing the antagonist Gul Meher in Express Entertainment’s Adnan Sarwar-directed miniseries Gunah alongside Juggan Kazim, Rabia Butt, and Sarmad Khoosat, she garnered a great deal of praise.

After that, Qamar worked with Green Entertainment on three projects: the social drama Pagal Khana, the crime mystery Serial Killer , and the classic romance drama Tumhare Husn Ke Naam.
