Rashami Desai has made a name for herself as one of the most well-liked and lucrative television actors. Rashami Desai began her acting career in Indian cinema before appearing in two different roles in Pari Hoon Main (2008) and Ravan (2006), both of which were her first appearances on Hindi television. Rashami Desai received numerous honours for her noteworthy performance as Tapasya Thakur in the long-running soap opera Uttaran on Colours TV (2009–2014), which helped her gain enormous fame.

Rashami Desai started out in regional cinema, making an appearance in the Assamese-language movie Kanyadaan in 2002. Alongside Shah Rukh Khan and Raveena Tandon, Desai made her Bollywood debut in the 2004 romantic mystery Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke, directed by Birendra Nath Tiwari. Rashami Desai played Sheetal, a college student whose older sister is killed (played by Tandon).

Alongside Ashutosh Rana and Vijay Raaz, Rashami Desai portrayed the part of Naina in the 2005 Hindi movie Shabnam Mausi. Later, she became well-known in the Bhojpuri film business, where she appeared in numerous parts in films including Gabbar Singh and Balma Bada Nadaan. Desai played the lead role in Kab Hoi Gauna Hammar, which won the National Award for Best Feature Film in Bhojpuri in 2005.
