Indian actress Ramya Krishnan, sometimes known as Ramya Krishna, was born on September 15, 1970. Ramya Krishnan has made appearances in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi, among other five languages. Ramya has received a Tamil Nadu State Film Award Special Prize, three Andhra Pradesh state Nandi Awards, and four Filmfare Awards.

Ramya Krishnan Childhood

On September 15, 1970, Ramya was born in Madras, which is now Chennai, to a Telugu father. She is the niece of Rajya Sabha member, comedian, and Tamil cinema performer Cho Ramaswamy. She has performed on stage numerous times and is trained in both Kuchipudi and Bharathanatyam dance styles.[Reference required]

debut and initial difficulties (1984–1988)

Her acting debut was in the Malayalam movie Neram Pularumbol. Despite being her debut acting role, this 1986 film was released later than expected. In 1985, she made her film debut in the Tamil film Vellai Manasu, starring opposite Y. G. Mahendra. Bhalae Mithrulu (1986) was her debut Telugu film. She then went on to perform supporting roles in Tamil movies, such as Per Sollum Pillai (1987), starring Kamal Haasan, and Padikkadavan (1985), starring Rajinikanth, in which she was given an uncredited role.

She co-starred with Rajendra Prasad in the Telugu films Bhama Kalapam (1988), Asthulu Anthasthulu (1988), Bava Marudula Saval (1988), and Madana Gopaludu (1987). She collaborated with Mohanlal on Malayalam movies including Orkkappurathu, Aryan, and Anuragi. She also had success in Kannada films. In Krishna Rukmini, she played a heroine alongside the legendary Vishnuvardhan in one of her early roles. She had a little part in the Hindi movie Dayavan, which starred Vinod Khanna, a seasoned actor.

Revolution in Hindi and Telugu (1989–1998)

Ramya Krishnan had a string of failures in Telugu and Tamil before becoming well-known thanks to K. Viswanath’s 1989 release of Sutradharulu. Ramya debuted in Hindi cinema as a heroine in Yash Chopra’s Parampara (1993). A few more Hindi films in which she appeared were Khalnayak (1993) directed by Subhash Ghai, Chaahat (1996) starring Mahesh Bhatt, Banarasi Babu (1997) starring David Dhawan, Bade Miyan Chote Miyan (1998) starring Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda, and Shapath starring Mithun Chakraborty.

return to Tamil cinema and TV series debut (1999–2009)

In 1999, Ramya returned to Tamil film with a four-year hiatus, costarring with Rajinikanth as the female antagonist in Padayappa. The Rediff critic said, “Ramya does an excellent job. When she says she will exact her own revenge in her next life, she is cruel to the very end. When she sees her father take his own life, she exhibits an amazing display of fury.[6] She went on to win other honors, such as the Tamil Nadu State Film Award Special Prize and the Filmfare Award for Best Actress – Tamil.

After then, she acted in financially successful movies such as Panchatanthiram and Budget Padmanabhan. Her performance in Panchatanthiram was dubbed “one of the finest performances ever” by a Screen reviewer. In addition, Ramya has acted in numerous devotional movies, such as Annai Kaligambal (2003), Nageswari (2001), Rajakali Amman (2000), and Sri Raja Rajeshwari (2001).

Ore Kadal (2007), starring Mammootty, was her noteworthy Malayalam film and won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film in Malayalam. She had played N. T. Rama Rao Jr.’s mother-in-law in the 2005 film Naa Alludu, which was specifically made for her, and then in the 2009 film Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam. Ramya portrayed Rajamata Sivagami Devi in S.S. Rajamouli’s 2015 films Baahubali: The Beginning and Baahubali: The Conclusion. After applauding Ramya’s performance, Sangeetha Devi Dundoo said, “Ramya Krishnan once again aces with her part”. For both movies, she was given the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress in Telugu. She portrayed a porn star in Thiagarajan Kumararaja’s 2019 film Super Deluxe. Her part was described as the “boldest role yet” by Srivatsan S of The Hindu.

In 2019, she debuted on the digital platform alongside Queen. The writer for India Today said “Ramya Krishnan as the failing actress and a budding politician (the later part of Shakthi’s life) puts in a measured performance and it is what stands out in a series that relies heavily on performances” . Ramya starred in Puri Jagannadh and Dharma Productions’ sports action movie Liger in 2022.

Ramya Krishnan Individual Life

On June 12, 2003, she wed Telugu film director Krishna Vamsi . A son of the couple exists.
