Actress Rambha Biography, Wiki

Born on June 5, 1976, Vijayalakshmi Yeedi, better known by her stage name Rambha, is a former Indian actress. In the 1990s and the beginning of the 2000s, she was a well-known actress in Indian cinema. Over the course of nearly two decades, Rambha has made appearances in over 100 films in eight different languages, primarily Telugu and Tamil, but also a few Bengali, Bhojpuri, and English productions, as well as Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam.

Rambha Actress Childhood And Upbringing

Born into a Telugu family on June 5, 1976, Rambha was born as Vijayalakshmi Yeedi in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Rambha completed her education at Vijayawada’s Atkinsons Senior Secondary School. She participated in her school’s Annual Day competition as Ammavaru, or Mother Goddess, while she was in her seventh grade of study. Director Hariharan had attended the event, and he kept in touch with her afterwards, introducing her as the female lead in the Malayalam movie Sargam. Her character name in her Telugu debut film Aa Okkati Adakku was Rambha, which she later altered from her original on-screen name of Amrutha.

Rambha Career

At the age of 15, Rambha dropped out of school, and she went on to act opposite Vineeth in Hariharan’s 1992 Malayalam film Sargam. After the movie did well at the box office, director E. V. V. Satyanarayana noticed her and put her alongside Rajendra Prasad in the Telugu film Aa Okkati Adakku (1992). The movie did well at the box office and brought the actress multiple offers from Indian film studios.

In order to attract movie offers, Rambha purposefully kept choosing flashy roles in the late 1990s, when her career was at its peak. In popular movies like Chiranjeevi’s Hitler (1997), Rambha had supporting roles that had little to do with the story and were only meant to be the lead actor’s romantic interest.
