Actress Raashii Khanna was born in India on 30 November 1990, and she primarily appears in Telugu and Tamil films. In the Telugu film Oohalu Gusagusalade (2014), Tamil film Imaikkaa Nodigal (2018), and Malayalam film Villain (2017), she made her acting debut in a supporting role in the Hindi film Madras Cafe (2013).

Khanna is a Delhi native who was born on November 30, 1990. Raashii Khanna attended St. Mark’s Senior Secondary Public School in Delhi for her education, and she later earned an honours Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Lady Shri Ram College in Delhi.
Khanna claimed to be an academic standout who was a total geek in both her high school and college years. Career beginnings and ascent in Telugu films (2013–2015)
In the 2013 Hindi political spy thriller Madras Cafe, helmed by director Shoojit Sircar, Khanna made her cinematic debut in a supporting role as Ruby Singh, the spouse of an Indian intelligence officer played by producer John Abraham. Before accepting the part, she had to go through acting workshops. Most Indian critics were thrilled with the film, especially with its story and direction. Saibal Chatterjee of NDTV wrote in his review of the movie that Khanna “makes an impact in a brief but significant appearance”. Madras Cafe brought in over ₹100 crore at the box office.

Actor Srinivas Avasarala, impressed by her performance in Madras Cafe, approached her for the female lead role in his directorial debut, Oohalu Gusagusalade, which also starred him and Naga Shaurya in the lead roles. Raashii Khanna signed the film in late October 2013, having considered a number of other south Indian films, citing the opportunity to perform as a motivator When Khanna was asked for the narration, she first thought the job would be more of a dancing role with limited room for acting, but she ended up finding her character in almost every scene in the movie.
Raashii Khanna described Prabhavati, the character, as a loveable yet stubborn, grey, and haughty girl who is extremely different from the real Prabhavati, save from the fact that she is from Delhi. Early in April 2014, Khanna revealed that she had a brief role in the Telugu movie Manam , which had a theatrical release prior to Oohalu Gusagusalade.[a] Reviews of Oohalu Gusagusalade were favourable, and Khanna was commended for her efforts. Her next Telugu movie, Joru, starring Sundeep Kishan and helmed by Kumar Nagendra, was signed after Madras Cafe and during filming for Oohalu Gusagusalade. Raashii Khanna portrayed Annapurna, a character Khanna deemed the polar opposite of the Prabhavati character she played in her previous movie, describing her as a “modern yet traditional” girl who “is highly emotional and cries at the drop of a hat”. As per The Hindu’s Sangeetha Devi Dundoo, she offers comfort with Kishan, Brahmanandam, and Saptagiri in a movie that was “let down by incoherent writing and amateurish execution”. Joru was a box office bust in terms of revenue.
The film Jil, directed by Radha Krishna Kumar and starring opposite Gopichand, was Khanna’s next venture. Raashii Khanna signed it in early July 2014, having been approached by the creators due to her success in Oohalu Gusagusalade. The critics gave the movie varying ratings. Raashii Khanna went on to star with Ram Pothineni in the movie Shivam at the beginning of May 2015. Her first release in 2021—and her second partnership with Vijay Sethupathi—was Tughlaq Durbar. The movie deferred its theatrical release in favour of a direct television premiere before going on sale to over-the-top platforms. The critics gave the movie varying ratings. Khanna released two of her films in October 2021. Bhramam, starring Prithviraj Sukumaran, was the inaugural release; it was theatrically released internationally and only available via direct over-the-top (OTT) in India. The movie was a Malayalam adaptation of the Andhadhun (2018) Hindi film. The critics gave the movie mostly favourable reviews. Aranmanai 3, which she starred in with Arya, was her next release that month. The movie did well at the box office even though critics gave it varying to poor reviews .
Rudra: The Edge of Darkness, which Khanna co-starred in with Ajay Devgn, was released in 2022 and was her first digital streaming release. It is a Luther adaption, a British television series. Critics gave the web series overwhelmingly positive reviews when it debuted. Khanna has two releases in July 2022. Her third project with Gopichand, Pakka Commercial, was the first to be released. When the movie was first released, critics gave it varying ratings. Her second project with Naga Chaitanya, Thank You, was released in that same month.

When the film was first released, reviews ranged from favourable to unfavourable, but Khanna’s portrayal of a “mature and stifled woman” was praised. The box office performances of both films were subpar. Thiruchitrambalam, starring Dhanush, was her next release, coming out in August 2022. When the movie was released, it got fantastic reviews. with reviewers praising the actors’ performances throughout the movie. Thiruchitrambalam made over ₹100 crore at the box office globally, making movie a hit. Sardar, starring Karthi, was her next release in October.[69] When the movie debuted, both reviewers and viewers gave it overwhelmingly positive reviews.Sardar proceeded to become Khanna’s second worldwide grosser of ₹100 crore in the same year .
Farzi, which stars Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi and was helmed by Raj Nidimoru and Krishna D.K. of The Family Man fame, was Khanna’s first release in 2023. Critics gave the series largely favourable reviews when it first debuted.
Raashii Khanna Future Undertakings
As of January 2024, Khanna has completed shooting for Hindi films Yodha starring Sidharth Malhotra, The Sabarmati Report and TME alongside Vikrant Massey. Khanna has also signed Telugu films, including Telusu Kada with Siddhu Jonnalagadda and Sharwanand in one that is provisionally titled Sharwanand33 . Khanna has wrapped up filming two Tamil films: Aranmanai 4 with Sundar C. and Tamannaah, and Methavi, which co-stars Jiiva and Arjun Sarja. In 2017, Khanna began filming Shaitan Ka Bachcha, a Tamil movie, starring Siddharth. It is unknown at this time how the movie is being produced.
