Indian-born American actress Pooja Kumar Bhatt (née Joshi) is involved in Tamil, Hindi, and English-language Indian cinema. Following her 1995 Miss India USA victory, she went on to pursue a career in acting and producing. Man on a Ledge, Brawl in Cell Block 99, Bollywood Hero, Flavours, Hiding Divya, Park Sharks, Bollywood Beats, Night of Henna, Anything for You, Drawing with Chalk, and Knots Urbane are just a few of the American series and films in which she has starred.
Pooja Kumar starred opposite Kamal Haasan in the Indian films Vishwaroopam and Vishwaroopam 2, as well as Uttama Villain. These were simultaneously filmed in Tamil and Hindi. She debuted in Telugu in the Rajasekhar film PSV Garuda Vega.

Kumar first agreed to be in Tamil film Kadhal Rojave, directed by Keyaar, in 1997. However, due to production delays, the movie wasn’t released until 2000, and her time as an actor in the Tamil film business went unrecognised. In 1997, she signed a contract but was later dropped from the movie V. I. P. She had also signed a contract to star with Karthik in Chithra Lakshmanan’s Chinna Raja, but that deal was finally cancelled.

The Screen Actors Guild Emerging Actress Award for Flavours was given to her in 2003. She was the host of the late-night live quiz program Jaago Aur Jeeto on Zed TV in India in 2008. In 2008, she made an appearance on the IFC musical comedy miniseries Bollywood Hero. In the three-part series, she featured opposite comic Chris Kattan from Saturday Night Live. Pooja Kumar made an appearance in Hum TV’s Pakistani drama show Ishq Junoon Deewangi in the late 2000s. She made a brief comeback to the screen in the movie Vishwaroopam.
