Pooja Chopra is an Indian model, actress, and former winner of beauty pageants. She represented India in the Miss World 2009 pageant, where she won the Femina Miss India World title and made history as the first Indian to win the “Beauty with a Purpose” title at the Miss World competition. Chopra received the Times Most Powerful Woman Award for her acting career in recognition of her contributions to the industry.

West Bengal, India’s Kolkata is the birthplace of Chopra. She claimed that because her father preferred a son, he left her at birth. 2009–12: The start of a career
On February 17, 2009, in Kolkata, Pooja Chopra was declared the 2009 Femina Miss India East winner. In addition, she took home titles including Miss Perfect 10, Miss Catwalk, Miss Beautiful Smile, Talwarkars Best Body, and Nakshatra Miss Sparkling Beauty. Pooja Chopra was crowned Miss World 2009’s “Beauty With a Purpose” on December 12, 2009, thanks to her humanitarian efforts with the “Nanhi Kali” project in India. Her effort awarded her $10,000 US, which she gave to the non-profit that supports young girls in their struggle against poverty.
