At the age of two, Nehlaxmi Joshi began her acting career in commercials. When she was a young artist, Banegi Apni Baat on Zee TV was her debut TV program. She appeared in Qubool Hai on Zee TV as Najma. On Colors, she portrayed Surbhi in Sasural Simar Ka.
Nehlaxmi Iyer portrayed the main character Saumya in the drama series Ishqbaaaz on Star Plus from 2016 and its spin-off Dil Boley Oberoi (2017). She played Neha in the dramedy lockdown special Bhalla Calling Bhalla on Zee5 in 2020. Nehlaxmi Iyer returned to the Qubool Hai 2.0 relaunch web series in 2021 as Najma.
