Mandy Takhar grew up in Wolverhampton, a city in the United Kingdom. Mandy Takhar may trace her ancestry to Maliana, a tiny Punjabi town close to Phagwara. When she was seventeen, her family relocated to London where she attended Kingston University to study acting. She left the UK in 2009 to pursue a career as an actor in Indian cinema.

Mandy Takhar Career
Mandy relocated to Mumbai, where she was cast in the 2010 movie Ekam – Son of Soil with popular Punjabi singer Babbu Mann. In the movie Mirza – The Untold Story, she starred opposite Gippy Grewal, the superstar. In this contemporary retelling of the Mirza-Sahiba love tale, she portrayed Sahiba.
Mandy Takhar was nominated for a PTC Punjabi Film Awards best actress category for her depiction of Sahiba.
Mandy Takhar costarred with Honey Singh and Amrinder Gill in the comedy Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22 in 2013. At the 6th Punjabi Film and Music Festival, she won the most famous and popular face and young icon of 2012–2013 award while playing a teacher.
Mandy Takhar debuted in Tamil cinema with the Karthi-starring film Biriyani, directed by Venkat Prabhu. Mandy Takhar took home the PTC Punjabi Film Awards’ best supporting actor trophy. Mandy Takhar starred in the Punjabi movie Rabb Da Radio at the beginning of 2017. Mandy Takhar and Sukhi Bart co-hosted the Brit Asia TV Music Awards in 2017.
