She emphasised how happy she was to be working with Majidi at such a young age, especially since she had to read and write essays about his films on a regular basis for her undergraduate degree. She chose not to wash her hair for several days in order to shed eight kilogrammes in fifteen days for a jail scene in the movie.
Malavika Mohanan agreed to play a part in Karthik Subbaraj’s Petta (2019) in the middle of 2018. She would be starring alongside Rajinikanth, Vijay Sethupathi, and Nawazuddin Siddiqui in an ensemble cast.
