Indian actor and costume designer Dolly Ahluwalia won the Sangeet Natak Akademi Award for costume design in 2001. In addition to winning two Best Costume Design wins for Bandit Queen (1993) and Haider (2014), she has also won three Filmfare wins, three National Film Awards, and Best Supporting Actress for Vicky Donor (2012), which is also her most well-known role as an actress.
Dolly Ahluwalia Career
Dolly Ahluwalia graduated from the National School of Drama in 1979. Ahluwalia began her professional life creating theatrical costumes. Her first National Film Award for Best Costume Design was won by her in Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen in 1993, which marked the beginning of her cinematic career.
