Action Hero Biju (2016), a Malayalam film, marked Emmanuel’s screen debut following her stint as a child artist in Swapna Sanchari (2011). With Majnu (2016), Emmanuel made her Telugu feature debut for which she was nominated for the SIIMA Award for Best Female Debut in Telugu. Anu Emmanuel starred in the commercially successful Namma Veetu Pillai (2019) after making her Tamil cinema debut in Thupparivaalan (2017).

Born on March 28, 1997, in the United States, Anu Emmanuel grew up in Garland, Texas, which is close to Dallas. Anu Emmanuel is the daughter of Kottayam-based renowned Malayalam film producer Thankachan Emmanuel. 2015 saw her graduate from Garland’s Lakeview Centennial High School. After a year, she abandoned her psychology degree to pursue an acting career in India.

In the Abrid Shine-directed and father-produced film Action Hero Biju, starring Nivin Pauly, Emmanuel made her acting debut. Anu Emmanuel debuted in Telugu opposite Nani in Majnu. The movie went on to become a box office success.

She was revealed at that time to be the leading lady in Oxygen, costarring with actor Gopichand. She debuted in Tamil opposite Vishal in the film Thupparivaalan in 2017.
