On August 26, 1990, in New Delhi, India, Rohan Gandotra was born into a Punjabi Hindu household, the son of Sunil and Meenakshi Gandotra. His older brother, Prateek Gandotra, is a man. Gandotra finished his education at New Delhi’s DLDAV Model School. Gandotra graduated from Jagan Institute of Management Studies with a bachelor’s degree in computers.

In 2014, Rohan made his television acting debut in the lead role of Aakash Joshi in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Everest on StarPlus, which was produced by AGPPL. He was nominated for an Indian Telly Award for Best Fresh New Face (Male) and received attention for his performance as Akash Joshi, which earned him Best Debut at the prestigious Gold Awards. Rohan Gandotra appeared in a brief cameo as Ashfaq in the 2015 Zed TV series Qubool Hai, costarring with Additi Gupta and Surbhi Jyoti.
