Actor Parmeet Sethi hails from India. The role he played as Kuljeet Singh in Aditya Chopra’s 1995 film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge is his most well-known accomplishment.

In the critically acclaimed 1995 film Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Sethi made his Bollywood debut as Kuljeet Singh. The film went on to become a critically and economically successful production. He then acted alongside Ajay Devgn and Sonali Bendre in Diljale (1996) as Captain Ranveer. In addition, he acted in the highly regarded Punjabi movie Des Hoyaa Pardes (2004). A National Award for Best Feature Film in Punjabi was given to the movie.
Along with his spouse Archana Puran Singh, he took part in the inaugural season of the dancing reality show Nach Baliye on Indian television in 2005. Then, in 2006, he and his spouse co-hosted Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa, another dancing reality show on television.

Yash Raj’s Badmaash Company, which starred Shahid Kapoor, Anushka Sharma, and Meiyang Chang, was a box office hit in 2010 and brought in 530 million Indian rupees. It was also the director’s first film. In just six days, Sethi composed the complete script, including the dialogue. Critics gave the movie varying degrees of praise. “Overall, Badmaash Company is a watchable experience for various reasons, the prime reason being it offers solid entertainment, but doesn’t insult your intelligence,” commented Bollywood Hungama’s Taran Adarsh, awarding it a 3 out of 5. CNN-IBN’s Rajeev Masand rated the film 1.5 out of 5 and called it “outrageously silly”.
Indiatimes reviewer Gaurav Malani rated the movie 3.5 out of 5, noting that “Badmaash Company is a decent entertainer.” Well worth seeing!” and complimenting Shahid Kapoor. Komal Nahta rated Badmaash Company as “an entertainer” and awarded the movie a score of 2.5 out of 5, complimenting Kapoor’s performance. Rediff’s Sukanya Verma scored the movie two out of five stars, noting that Sethi’s directorial debut gets off to a confident and zingy start.
The Times of India’s Nikhat Kazmi rated the movie three out of five stars, stating that “the story does follow a very predictable line of crime and punishment/repentance, although there are some riveting scenes.”DNA awarded the movie a score of 2.5 out of 5, noting that “This company is worth keeping.” It was dubbed a “staggeringly tedious film” by Anupama Chopra of NDTV and “there’s not a single scene in the film that actually works” by Raja Sen of Rediff. The Hindustan Times’ Mayank Shekhar gave the movie a two out of five stars and said it was poorly scripted. He enjoyed the movie up to the intermission. ReviewGang gave the movie a 4 out of 10 overall rating.
Following his role in the 2007 movie Dus Kahaniyaan, he took a leave of absence from performing in 2008 in order to concentrate on writing and directing. However, he returned to acting in 2015 after a seven-year hiatus with the Zoya Akhtar film Dil Dhadakne Do.
Additionally, he directed a few episodes of the 2015 sitcom Sumit Sambhal Lega.
