American-Indian actor Omi Vaidya was born on January 10, 1982, and is most known for his roles in Bollywood films. Vaidya grew up in Yucca Valley, California, near Joshua Tree. After completing his studies at the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts, he spent two years as an undergraduate at the University of California, Santa Cruz. In an interview, Vaidya shared his background observations: In the USA, I reside in Los Angeles. I was raised there, but we used to travel to India annually. Goa is where I was born and raised in India, although I also spent a lot of time in Mumbai. At the age of six, I began performing in English plays in the US and Marathi mandal nataks. In high school, I gained more knowledge about acting, and that’s when I started taking my interest in movies seriously as a job.

Vaidya started her career as an editor for South Asian and horror feature films after graduating from college. He kept acting as well, landing modest parts in TV shows and advertisements. The casting director encouraged him to try out for The Office’s Sadiq character after giving him a small role in Arrested Development. In the two episodes “E-mail Surveillance” and “Fun Run,” he played Sadiq. He appeared in Bones as well.
