Sandhu began his professional life as a model. Nandish Sandhu played Raunak in the television series Kasturi on Star Plus, where he made his acting debut in 2007. and thereafter made cameos and supporting appearances in a number of TV series.

His first significant break and TV debut came in 2009 when he played Veer Singh Bundela alongside Tina Dutta in Colours TV’s Uttaran. His portrayal of Veer brought him great notoriety and popularity, as well as a number of awards and nominations, and made him a household figure. With his arrival, Uttaran opened up more overseas markets for Indian television. His chemistry with Tina Datta was also widely praised, and the show’s ratings rose.
