Born in Chennai on July 28, 1983, Venkatesh Prabhu Kasthuri Raja, also professionally known as Dhanush, is an Indian actor, producer, director, lyricist, and playback singer who specialises in Tamil film. His credits include fourteen SIIMA Awards, seven Filmfare Awards South, a Filmfare Award, and four National Film Awards (two as an actor and two as a producer). He has starred in 46 films over his career.

Listed six times in Forbes India Celebrity 100, he is one of the most paid actors in Indian film. The 2002 coming-of-age film Thulluvadho Ilamai, which was helmed by Dhanush’s father Kasthuri Raja, was his debut feature. In the critically and commercially successful films Yaaradi Nee Mohini (2008) and Polladhavan (2007), he found greater success.Dhanush received the Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Tamil and the National Film Award for Best Actor for his performance as a rooster fight jockey in Aadukalam (2010). Raanjhanaa (2013), starring Aanand L. Rai, marked his Bollywood debut. In addition to earning him a nomination for the Filmfare Award for Best Actor, his portrayal of an obsessive, one-sided lover in the movie earned him the Filmfare Award for Best Male Debut. 2011–2014: Important achievements

Aadukalam, Dhanush’s first release in 2011 after filming for more than three years, was his second project with Vetrimaran. During the filming, Dhanush, who portrayed a local cockfighter, referred to the endeavour as his “dream project”. The movie was highly praised by critics and took home six National Film Awards, including the Best Actor prize, which Dhanush won—becoming the youngest actor to do so—at the 58th National Film Awards. The movie debuted on April 9th, to positive reviews. Dhanush was nominated for a Filmfare Award for Best Actor – Tamil eleven times for his role in the movie. His next venture was the criminal comedy Jagame Thandhiram, which was written and directed by Karthik Subbaraj and debuted on June 18, 2021. Dhanush Individual Life

On November 18, 2004, Dhanush wed Aishwarya, the eldest daughter of actor Rajinikanth. Yatra and Linga, their two kids, were born in 2006 and 2010, respectively. The pair declared their split on January 17, 2022.
