Cyrus Sahukar Childhood And Family
On August 6, 1980, Cyrus Sahukar was born in the military headquarters of Mhow, Indore. His parents are writer Nimeran Sahukar and Colonel Behram Sahukar. His mother is from Punjab, and his father is Parsi. Alongside Sam Manekshaw, his paternal grandfather Adi Sahukar was a brigadier in the army. At the age of four, his parents divorced, and he moved in with his grandmother in Delhi.

Preeti Philip, Cyrus’s elder sister, is an artist. Cyrus Sahukar was born and raised in Delhi, where he attended St. Columba’s School and Delhi University’s Delhi College of Arts and Commerce for his education. Cyrus Sahukar experimented with music and led his band in school by the time he was 14 years old. Along with Mini Mathur and Asif Seth, he won the MTV VJ Hunt after turning 18, and he relocated to Mumbai.

At the age of six, Cyrus Sahukar began acting in school plays and doing theatre. His first venture as a professional vocalist was a performance in a musical show called Thank you for the music, directed by Stephen Marazzi, when he was fifteen years old. Later on, he began helping Roshan Abbas.
Sahukar started hosting a radio programme called Radio Rampage in Delhi when he was sixteen years old. He contributed to the production and performed in Roshan Abbas’s Graffiti Postcards from School and Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Starlight Express in the same year. Under his supervision, Sahukar also began performing voice-overs and jingles for radio. He made his debut jingle for the company Harpic.
Years as an MTV VJ (2000-2010)
Cyrus’s MTV career got its start when he and Mini Mathur and Asif Seth won MTV VJ Hunt. In 1999, he presented MTV Chill Out as well.
In addition, he played a variety of strange characters in a number of other programmes, such as two seasons of Rendezvous with Semi Girebaal, which was his own spin on the discussion show Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, and Piddhu The Great, which was based on the Indian cricketer-commentator Navjot Singh Sidhu.The parody Semi Girebaal achieved a higher Total Viewership than the actual programme. In 2003, Cyrus served as the host of MTV Roadies season 1.

Together with fellow VJ and comedian Cyrus Broacha, Sahukar produced a show called MTV123 in 2004 that later evolved into Cy vs Cy. MTV’s Fully Faltoo Film Festival featured performances by Cyrus Sahukar, Ayushmann Khurrana, and Shambhavi Sharma, an ex-roadie candidate. In the hour-long spoof Bechaare Zameen Par, Sahukar portrayed Pareshaan Awasthi.

By2008, he had left MTV to work as a host of different game shows on POGO, Star TV, UTV, and Zed TV. In 2006, he was the host of the ZeeTV reality show Business Baazigar, which focused on entrepreneurship. Additionally, he presented 300 episodes of POGO All-stars and Hole in the Wall (2008), two game shows on the POGO channel. Cyrus Sahukar was an anchor for The Assignment Season 1 (2008), a business reality show on Bloomberg UTV India’s business news channel. In 2008, he served as the Pogo Amazing Kids awards emcee as well.
Sahukar was last seen co-hosting Elovator Pitch (2018) on MTV, a BBC Studios-produced speed-dating programme that takes place in an elevator and features Gaelyn Mendonca. In the year that followed, he co-hosted The Antisocial Network (2019) alongside MTV VJ Jose Covaco, a fellow prankster. Alongside model and actress Mugdha Godse, Sahukar also served as a judge in the MTV competitive modelling programme, Forbidden Angels (2021).

Cyrus Sahukar co-hosted the conversation show Atrangi Fireside Chat with Cyrus on Zee5, an over-the-top streaming service, in 2020. In 2020, Sahukar delved into his love of cooking with a brand-new TLC India series called The Missing Apron. Alongside actor Amol Parashar, he co-hosted the first and second seasons of the Discovery Plus series Feelin Alive (2021–2022).

Sahukar tried his hand at acting in Bollywood films in the early 2000s. Om Jai Jagdish, directed by Anupam Kher, was his first feature film (2002). Later in 2006, Sahukar was cast as Rahul in the Indian drama film Rang de Basanti (2006), which Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra wrote, produced, and directed. In 2009, he appeared in another Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra film, Delhi 6. Cyrus Sahukar portrayed affluent West Delhi boy Randhir Gambir in the 2010 film Aisha, starring Abhay Deol and Sonam Kapoor. Sahukar featured in The House Guest (2011) a year later. He acted in the multistarrer romantic Hindi film Love Breakups Zindagi (2011), directed by Sahil Sangha, in the same year.

In live events, Cyrus has hosted more than 3000. He hosted his first awards presentation in 2007 as a VJ for the Lycra MTV Style Awards, an MTV India event. Sahukar has received an invitation to host the Indian debuts of several high-end brands, such as Adidas, Ericsson, Samsung, Puma, and others. In 2015, he started working with Tata Motors. In 2016, he hosted the launch ceremony of the Huawei P9.
His subsequent hosting gig for Tata Motors was for the debut of Tata Tiago, when he cohosted with legendary football player Lionel Messi. Additionally, he participated at the biggest vehicle show in Asia, Tata Motors’ vehicle Expo, in both 2016 and 2018. In addition, he served as host of the TIGI Presents Femina Salon & Spa Hair Heroes (2016) awards.

In2022, Cyrus launched his new business, the restaurant Kulcha Bros, with his friend Samir Kochar.
Cyrus Sahukar Individual Life
Sahukar married longtime companion Vaishali Malahara in Alibaug in 2022.
