Milan Luthria directed the romantic action drama film Tadap, which costarred Tara Sutaria and was a remake of the popular Telugu action film RX 100. This was Shetty’s first acting role. Ahan Shetty ate eleven to twelve meals a day and gained 11 kg in preparation for the role. Under the auspices of Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment, principal photography got underway in April 2019. Fox Star Studios served as both the distributor and co-producer for the project. Critics gave the movie mixed reviews when it debuted in theatres in December 2021, praising the action scenes and performances but criticising the script.

Tadap performed “average” at the box office, earning ₹34.86 crore. For his performance, Shetty was given the IIFA Award for Star Debut of the Year – Male.

Shetty is linked to Tania Shroff, a fashion designer. They have now been dating for almost ten years. They both attended the same school, in actuality. The couple attended Armaan Jain’s wedding, marking their first official public event together. They were spotted together at the movie theatre when Shetty’s first feature film was released.
