Born on June 18, 1970, Arvind Swamy is an Indian actor, filmmaker, and businessman who is well-known for his roles in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, and Malayalam films. With the popular movie Thalapathi (1991), Mani Ratnam made his acting debut. He went on to star in other hit movies like Roja (1992), Bombay (1995), Minsara Kanavu (1997), Thani Oruvan (2015), and Chekka Chivantha Vaanam (2018).

Arvind Swamy Childhood
Industrialist V. D. Swamy and Bharatanatyam dancer Vasantha are Swamy’s parents. 1991–1996: The beginning of a successful career
In Mani Ratnam’s action drama Thalapathi (1991), Swamy made his feature film debut as a young district collector who faced off against a don and his own biological brother. He was subsequently cast in the lead role of Mani Ratnam’s political drama film Roja (1992). Awards were given out in the State and National Film Award ceremonies for Roja and Bombay (1995). Time Magazine described his performance as “soulful” in Bombay. Swamy’s films have garnered numerous accolades from both the public and critics. One of the first few Indian actors to attain pan-Indian appeal, he has been called. He provides the voice of adult Simba in the 1994 Tamil dubbing of Disney’s The Lion King. Career obstacles and sabbatical from 1997–2000
Alongside Kajol and Prabhu Deva, he acted in Rajiv Menon’s Minsaara Kanavu, which received positive box office reviews in addition to four National Film Awards. Arvind Swami criticized Menon during the film’s production for rewriting the script to prioritize Prabhu Deva’s role. After a sluggish beginning, the movie eventually did well at the box office, and Arvind Swami eventually said he was glad to participate in it.

The two earlier ones, in which he starred opposite Karisma Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit, two Hindi stars, respectively, were never released in theaters.
He worked on Sasanam without receiving any compensation; it was released in 2006 after a delay. Mahesh Bhatt’s film with Aishwarya Rai and Anupam Kher’s directorial debut picture costarring Amitabh Bachchan, two well-known Hindi projects he had signed at the time, were later canceled as well. En Swasa Kaatre (1999) and Raja Ko Rani Se Pyar Ho Gaya (2000), his last two films prior to his hiatus, likewise took a number of years to finish, with protracted production delays.

After appearing in a cameo in Mani Ratnam’s Alaipayuthey, Swamy gradually quit performing in movies after 2000 in order to focus on his business ventures. He carried on with his business dealings in building and international trade as director of V D Swamy and Company. He started working in transaction processing in 2000, first as the chairman and managing director of Prolease India and then as president of InterPro Global. He oversaw technology and operations for the delivery of numerous processes in several verticals around the world. Then, in 2005, he established Talent Maximus, an Indian company that handles payroll processing and provides temporary workers. His spine was hurt in an accident that occurred in 2005. He endured years of excruciating pain and partial paralysis of his limb. That added four to five years to the treatment.
2013–present: Returning to movies
Following a successful course of therapy, Mani Ratnam phoned him again to re-cast him in his film Kadal (2013), for which Swamy lost fifteen kg. He did the voice-over for the film Ceylon, starring Santhosh Sivan, in 2013. Arvind Swamy played the well-known antagonist Sidharth Abhimanyu in the 2015 film Thani Oruvan, for which he won numerous acting accolades, great reviews, and acclaim.
Arvind Swamy played the same part again in the Telugu adaptation of Thani Oruvan, Dhruva (2016), starring Ram Charan, for which the Telugu public gave him a lot of praise. Due to production issues and Arvind Swamy’s insistence on receiving his salary, a number of his films were postponed or scrapped in the late 2010s. Sathuranga Vettai 2’s production started in July 2016 but hasn’t been released yet because of a payment disagreement with Manobala, the film’s producer. Director Selva came up with the idea for Vanangamudi in 2014, and the filming of it proceeded slowly over a period of nine years. Similarly, filming on Kallapart and Naragasooran started in the middle of 2018 and 2017, respectively, although neither movie has been shown in theaters. Other projects, such Santhosh Jayakumar’s Pulanaivu and the Hindi-Tamil bilingual version of the Marathi film Kaksparsh, were shelved even though they had begun production.
Arvind Swamy Individual Life
In June 1994, Swamy tied the knot with Gayathri Ramamurthy . The couple has two children: Adhira, born in 1996, and Rudra, born in 2000. Before filing for divorce in 2010, the couple lived apart for seven years. His children’s custody was awarded. In 2012, he wed Aparna Mukerjee.
