Indian film director, screenwriter, and producer Ruchi Narain was born in 1976. Ruchi Narain is best known for being the writer of the highly regarded movie Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi (2003). In addition, she directed the Netflix original movie Guilty (2020), Hanuman: Da’ Damdaar (2017), Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow (2005), and others.

The 2005 modern urban thriller Kal: Yesterday and Tomorrow, which she co-wrote and directed, earned her the Critics Award at the Osian’s Cinefan Film Festival. She assembled a group of 14 investors and created a business plan to raise the money for this movie.
She then founded R.A.T Films with two partners, Ashutosh Shah and Taher Shabbir. With them, she created the animation film Hanuman: Da’ Damdaar (2017), which she also wrote and directed, in addition to over a hundred advertisements for various businesses.
