His debut album Bacthafucup was featured in Spotify’s Most Popular Artists in Punjabi Music Industry list and debuted at number 20 on the Billboard Canadian Albums chart and 34th on the New Zealand albums chart. These achievements earned him the title of Largest Digital Artist 2021 on Spotify.

Aujla, who is from Ghurala, Ludhiana, began her career as a songwriter for the song “Range” on Jassi Gill’s album Replay. After that, he moved to Canada and began writing lyrics for other musicians, such as Deep Jandu and Elly Mangat. After releasing his first single “Property of Punjab” in 2016 as the lead singer, he began appearing in songs as a guest artist.

Conflicts and rivalries

Sidhu Moose Wala and Aujla were rivals. By their songs, each have been responding to one another. Songs endorsing violence have brought criticism to both musicians. Elly Mangat, who has previously collaborated with both artists, revealed in an interview that the conflict started when Sidhu’s song’s video, which was directed at Aujla, was leaked to the latter’s management, who then threatened to assault Sidhu. Both began pursuing the other on social media after the encounter. The rivalry was momentarily put to rest when Karan Aujla and Sanam Bhullar recorded the song “Lafaafe”.

Following the publication of his debut album Bacthafucup (B.T.F.U.) in September 2021, a complaint was lodged against Harjit Harman, himself, and the record label Speed Records for their comparison of women to drugs, alcohol, and firearms in the song “Sharab”.
