Indian actress Nimrat Kaur was born on March 13, 1982 . Nimrat Kaur has worked in American television and Hindi cinema. Nimrat Kaur started out as a print model before becoming a theatre actor. Following a few short film roles, Kaur starred in Peddlers, directed by Anurag Kashyap and premiered at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.

Nimrat Kaur Childhood And Upbringing
Kaur was born in Pilani, Rajasthan, into a Sikh family. Her younger sister Rubina is a psychologist working in Bangalore, and her father Major Bhupinder Singh, SC was an officer in the Indian Army. Her studies were at Yadavindra Public School in Patiala, where her family also resided. Her father was slain by Kashmiri terrorists after being kidnapped in 1994. Her family then relocated to the Delhi-suburb of Noida, where she was raised and went to Delhi Public School. She later completed her studies at Delhi University’s Shri Ram College of business, where she earned a B.Com. Hons. in business.
Following her education, Kaur relocated to Mumbai where she worked as a print model. Her career started as a theatre performer, where she performed in pieces including Red Sparrow, All About Women, and Baghdad Wedding (2012), under the direction of Sunil Shanbag and Manav Kaul.

Initial projects and launch (2012-2015)
In 2004, Kaur made her debut in a two-part music video for the songs “Yeh Kya Hua” by Shreya Ghoshal and “Tera Mera Pyar” by Kumar Sanu. Apurva Asrani, a writer-editor, directed the videos. She worked on TV commercials as well.
In the English film One Night with the King (2006), which was filmed in Rajasthan, Kaur made her screen debut in a small role. Her first Hindi film was Peddlers (2012), which was directed by Anurag Kashyap. Good reviews greeted the movie when it screened at the Cannes Film Festival.

Following a four-year break, Kaur co-starred with Abhishek Bachchan as the chief minister of Haryana in the 2022 Netflix film Dasvi. “Though Nimrat Kaur’s character in Dasvi was confusing, she lit up the film with her performance,” India Today’s Grace Cyril wrote in her review of the movie.
Nimrat Kaur played Yanna Seldon in the science fiction series Foundation’s second season in 2023. Nimrat Kaur portrayed a school counsellor in the web series School of Lies that same year. In Sajini Shinde Ka Viral Video, her last project of the year, she portrayed an inspector. “It is Nimrat Kaur who saves the day with a solid, admirably consistent performance as the investigator who has much more on her plate than just a case of a missing girl,” NDTV’s Saibal Chatterjee remarked in his admiration.
