A sting operation by Media Sarkar purportedly revealed in November 2013 that a number of Aam Aadmi Party leaders had consented to help with property sales and other financial arrangements in exchange for cash donations. In response, the party said that the film was fake, that it violated the Model Code of Conduct, and that Media Sarkar and any TV stations that broadcast it would face legal action. The party national secretary then filed a defamation lawsuit against Chaurasia, claiming that the sting was staged to damage the party’s standing.

The Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee filed complaints against India News in August 2013 after the channel aired an interview with Asaram Bapu’s spokesperson that reportedly featured false information on several accusations of sexual assault against the actor.
Criminal charges were also filed against Chaurasia in December 2013, with the accusation being that he had personally altered records pertaining to the claims of sexual assault. His denial that the broadcast was “bona fide” and unaltered led the Allahabad High Court to stay his imprisonment in January 2014.

While hosting a live programme regarding the passing of General Bipin Rawat in a helicopter accident, Chaurasia was observed slurring his words and making multiple verbal errors. The general was incorrectly referred to by Chaurasia as a “journalist” and as “General V.P. Singh” at one point. Chaurasia was accused of being intoxicated while on live and received harsh criticism for his on-air behaviour on social media. Later, he refuted claims that he was drunk during the show in a Facebook statement. After using a lot of medicines to relieve the pain from a hairline fracture in his leg, he said he was experiencing negative effects.
