Born in India on April 30, 1981, Kunal Nayyar (/kʊˈnɑːl ˈnaɪ.ər/, kuu-NAHL NY-ər) is an actor of Indian descent. His roles as Raj Koothrappali on the CBS sitcom The Big Bang Theory (2007–2019) and Vijay on the Nickelodeon animated show Sanjay and Craig (2013–2016) helped him become well-known.

Because to his performance in Criminal: UK, he received a nomination for Best Supporting Actor at the 2021 British Academy Television Awards. In 2015 and 2018, he was ranked by Forbes as the third-highest-paid television actor in the world, with earnings of US$20 million and US$23.5 million. Kunal Nayyar Childhood
On April 30, 1981, in Hammersmith, London, Nayyar was born into an Indian Punjabi immigrant family. His parents moved back to India when he was three years old, and he was raised in New Delhi. Kunal Nayyar was a member of the school’s badminton team while attending St. Columba’s School.
Nayyar relocated to the US in 1999 in order to attend the University of Portland in Oregon to complete her Bachelor of Business Administration in finance. While pursuing his degree, he began taking acting classes and made appearances in multiple campus productions.

Nayyar made the decision to pursue a career in acting after taking part in the American College Theatre Festival. His next stop was Temple University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he studied acting and graduated with a Master of Fine Arts.

Nayyar obtained employment performing in plays and American television commercials in London after graduating. His portrayal of an Indian exchange student eager to explore American culture before returning home in the West Coast production of Rajiv Joseph’s 2006 play Huck & Holden brought him initial recognition in the US. Cotton Candy, a drama written by Nayyar and Arun Das, had a successful New Delhi premiere in 2006.
In the fourth season episode “Suspicion” of the CBS show NCIS, Nayyar had a cameo appearance as Youssef. When Nayyar’s agent learned of a scientist’s position in an impending CBS pilot in 2007, she urged him to try out for the role. This resulted in his being cast as an astrophysicist named Raj Koothrappali in the sitcom The Big Bang Theory. The show ran from September of that year until May of the following year.
Alongside co-star Simon Helberg, he co-hosted the Tribute to Nerds event at the Just for Laughs comedy festival in 2011. In Ice Age: Continental Drift, Nayyar provided Gupta’s voice in 2012. Kunal Nayyar finished filming Dr. Cabbie, the movie that Bollywood star Salman Khan produced, in the same year.
Kunal Nayyar created the 2013 documentary Beyond All Boundaries, which followed three people. Akshaya is a female cricket player from the Mumbai slums; Prithvi is a teenage cricket prodigy; and Sudhir rides his bike across the nation to support his side.
Nayyar participated in the off-Broadway production of The Spoils, which was written by and starred actor Jesse Eisenberg, from May 5 to June 29, 2015. In the 2020 Netflix UK series Criminal: UK, Nayyar portrayed Sandeep, a convicted serial killer. He made an appearance in the Season 2 finale, which aired in August 2020. Alongside Uma Thurman, Elizabeth Henstridge, and Elyes Gabel, he joined the cast of Suspicion, an Apple TV+ thriller series based on the Israeli thriller TV series False Flag, in the same year.
Kunal Nayyar was chosen to portray the lead character of A. J. Fikry in the upcoming comedy-drama The Storied Life of A. J. Fikry, which is based on the best-selling book by Gabrielle Zevin and stars Lucy Hale and Christina Hendricks. This announcement was made in 2021.

Kunal Nayyar Individual Life
Model and 2006 Femina Miss India Neha Kapur wed Nayyar in December 2011. The University of Portland claims that Nayyar and his spouse have sponsored guest artists and provided scholarships for UP students majoring in performing and fine arts.
