Kruti Mahesh Childhood and professional Life

Born into a Tamil Brahmin family in Matunga, Mumbai, Kruti enrolled in dancing classes at the age of five. At fourteen, she gave her Arangetram performance. After graduating from Mumbai University, she went to London to study at London South Bank University to earn a master’s degree in forensic science. However, because of her father’s health problems, she later returned to Mumbai. She entered dance competitions because her father inspired her to follow her love of dancing. Kruti Mahesh Midya was employed by a clinic as an embryologist as well.

Kruti Mahesh Midya joined Terence Lewis as a contestant on Dance India Dance Season 2 (2009), where she won notoriety. She kept participating in dance competitions, acting as a skipper for the team Kruti Ke Kracters and Om Chetri in DID Li’l Master season 2 , where she placed runner-up. Kruti Mahesh Midya joined Dance Ke Superkids and worked as a choreographer with Prince Gupta for Team Yahoo, which was led by Raghav Juyal. Faisal Khan, Soumya Rai, Rohan Parkale, Om Chetri, Jeet Das, Shalini Moitra, and Tanay Malhara were among the competitors on their team, and they won the competition. Kruti Mahesh Midya had training in Kathak, Kuchipudi, Bharatanatyam, and ballet.

In the song “Balam Pichkari” from Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, she provided backing vocals for Remo D’Souza. Kruti Mahesh Midya went on supporting him in a number of films, including “Deewani Mastani” and “Pinga” in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Bajirao Mastani. Because of the songs’ popularity, Bhansali offered her autonomous choreography for Padmaavat, his upcoming movie.

In the end, the song was renamed “Ghoomar” after the same-named traditional folk dance from Rajasthan. The Rajputs later took up the Bhil tribes’ custom of performing ghoomar. She collaborated on the project with Jyothi D. Tomar, an expert in ghoomar. Deepika Padukone, who played a Rajput princess in the song, was praised by critics for both the song and its dance. Along with Tomar, she won multiple accolades for best choreography at the 66th National Film accolades, including the National Film Award for Best Choreography.

Along with Rahul Shetty and Remo D’Souza, she choreographed every song in Race 3. She also choreographed every song in Street Dancer 3D, where two of the songs, “Illegal Weapon” and “Nachi Nachi,” were nominated for Best Choreography at the Filmfare Awards. Another dance piece from her movie that included Nora Fatehi was called “Gharmi”. Her other songs were the Punjabi dance number “Jee Ni Karda” by Sardar Ka Grandson and the garba “Ghani Cool Chori” by Rashmi Rocket . Sai Pallavi performed in the Shyam Singha Roy song “Pranavalaya” with choreography by her. After it was released, the dance piece—which included elements of Mohiniyattam, Odissi, and Bharatanatyam—became well-known.

Kruti Mahesh Midya worked with Bhansali on the critically acclaimed songs “Dholida” and “Jhume Re Go” from Gangubai Kathiawadi’, which were based on Garba and danced by Alia Bhatt . At the 68th Filmfare Awards, she was given the Best Choreography award for “Dholida”. Kruti Mahesh Midya worked with Madhuri Dixit on the foot-tapping Garba song “Boom Padi” in a festive environment for the movie Maja Ma (2022).and contributed to a Bhangra song for the Punjabi movie Godday Godday Chaa .
